Welcome to the Dream Makers Education Foundation

We are committed through the Dream Makers  Education Foundation to transforming South Carolina's  so-called  ‘Corridor of Shame’ into a ‘Corridor of Hope.’ Listen to the voices of a few students from the corridor whom we have assisted:

-A  High School student...

“Growing up in rural South Carolina, I saw my community decline

after the closing of factories and mills and how it impacted the

lives of families that depended on them for survival…Hundreds

of individuals became unemployed and left our town desolate…

There is little or no opportunities in our town for youth advancement.”

-An Undergraduate College Student...

“My education will allow me to make a difference in my community or a community like the one where I grew up…Growing up, I saw how poverty and the lack of resources impacted the health and educational pursuits of my peers…Due to a lack of resources, encouragement and positive extracurricular activities many young people chose to sell drugs, drop out of high school, give up their long term goals for higher education…Very few of my peers have decided to pursue post-secondary education, and the few who decided to attend college, many were underprepared and unable to graduate.”  Read more...
